We started our region schedule this week with a win over Thomas Sumter Academy 3-0 with scores of 25-10, 25-7, 25-16. We have had some injuries this year, and this week we got Haley Freeman back, and she was voted Player of the Match by her teammates.
We have played some of the best competition in the state up to this point, and the hope is that it better prepares us for our region play. With wins against Orangeburg Prep, and Palmetto Christian twice, and one more with Thomas Sumter, we could win the region for the 3rd year in a row. That's our next goal, and then on to the state tournament where we hope to be a state finalist for the 3rd year in a row as well.
Led by our team captains, Alexa Brownell, and Reagan Funderburk, we have established a culture of hard work, and an undying devotion to being the best teammate we can be. The sky is the limit for this group if we can stay healthy, humble and focused!
