NCA varsity volleyballers sweep match and season contests against Palmetto Christian Academy to claim the SCISA AA Region II Championship. The Crusaders will travel to Myrtle Beach October 22 with a number one seed in the State Tournament.
From the first point of the match to the finish of the third set, the Crusaders were led by region player of the year candidate senior Lauren Reynolds. Reynolds dropped a total of 18 kills on the Eagles. Both Sophomore Reagan Funderburk and senior Kailyn Koontz chipped in 8 kills at a hitting percentage of .538. Funderburk and Koontz frustrated the Eagles throughout the match with block after block with block kills from the MH’s.
Assisting the hitters was senior Setter and Captain Emily Colby who contributed 4 kills, 3 Aces and one block kill.
The Crusaders return to action Thursday night at home with Thomas Sumter visiting for the last region match.
