The 2022 Northside Cross country team is being led by coach Stephen McNeill and team captains senior Conner Vanhoosier and junior Natalie Walke, in addition to 13 other runners. The team is having a great season, that has turned in many PR’S(personal records) for the all the runners.
The runners have worked really hard, and as the season has progressed, they have all improved their running times. Seventh grader Kendall Murray and Sixth grader Jennifer Gause have led a strong showing by the girls team all year. Kendall set a new school record at 19:41 and won two races overall so far this season with 3 races to go. Kendall and Jennifer lead a strong group with Natalie Walke, Maci Porth, Campbell McNeill, and Molly Pantoja.
The guy’s team has been led by first year runner sophomore Cade McNeill. Cade set a new school record at 18:18. Top returners Noah Greene, Tyler Shick, Conner Vanhoosier, and new comer fifth grader Jace Cummings, have all ran extremely well for the Crusaders this year. Trenton Manzi just set a PR in his last race, and newcomers Triton Railey, Lucas Alvarez, Eason Barnhill, and Jacob Alvarez have all ran really well this year for the team.
We have three races left in the season, and we look to finish strong. I have watched as this team has grown not on in running, but as a team to love and support each other. Let’s go Crusaders! (Coach Stephen McNeill)
