NCA Basketball Falls Short

It was an exciting but tough first game for the Crusaders against a very athletic Gilbert Indian team on their home court. The NCA varsity boys led for the better part of 3 quarters and even extended their lead to 13 at one point during the 2nd half. Foul trouble eventually caught up with the Crusaders though, as Dillon Harris and Andy Gwyn eventually fouled out. Prior to fouling out, Harris led NCA with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ronnie Combs chipped in 13, Jeb Reiser 12, and Sullie Crider had 12 points. The Indians hit some clinching free throws down the stretch to win 76-67. Northside will get a chance to play the Indians again next Monday at home. The Crusaders will play Tuesday night this week against Pelion at the Gilbert tournament.
