MS Boys Basketball Finish the Season 16-2

The Northside Christian Middle School Boys exploded out of the gates to claim a 17-0 second quarter lead before giving up a basket and held on for an eventual 47-36 win. The Crusaders held 13 point leads in each of the first 3 periods. The leads were 13-0, 22-9 and 35-22. Clear Dot was able to shave 3 points off of the margin in the 4th.


J.R. Kinard led the Crusaders in scoring for the season and in this season finale as he pumped in 17 including a 4th Quarter 3-Pointer that allowed NCA to close out the game with their non-starters. Eighth-graders Luke Bohnsack, Luke Cromer, Josiah Richardson and Cooper Arnold completed the starting line-up and led the Crusaders in scoring. Bohnsack, Cromer and Richardson had 6 and Arnold had 5. Another 8th-grader Bronson Heath hit a 4th Quarter 3 to finish off his Middle School career in style. Hunter Peeler had 2 points while Bishop Allen and B.J. Suits had one point each to complete the scoring.


The Crusaders finished the season at 16-2 which included an undefeated mark against Region and SCISA foes. The other 8th-graders closing out their middle school careers were Ma Thomas, Clayton Hardin and Jeremiah Howard. First year coach Shane Richardson was very pleased with the team's season and the individual development of the players throughout the season.
