Northside Christian Academy's Middle SchoolFootball team earned their first win of the season with a 24-18 victory over Heathwood Hall. Newcomer Bishop Allen led the Crusaders with 7 carries for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns while also catching 2 passes for 46 yards. The Crusaders took an 8-6 lead with 5:50 to go in the 2nd Quarter on Allen's 23 yard TD run and QB J Suits 2 point conversion run. NCA capped a 94yard drive to vault to a 16-6 lead with 36.4 seconds until intermission on Allen's 32 yard TD run. Suits found his TE Landon Wise who made a diving catch to secure the conversion. Bishop Allen had a 6 yard TD run and Suits completed NCA's scoring with a conversion run to secure a 24-12 lead with 2:55 remaining in the game. The Crusaders held on to enjoy the 24-18 win. Suits was 3-7 passing for 55 yards and also had 30 yards in kickoff returns. Cason Vease alertly pounced on a Heathwood fumble and Kai Finkbeiner had an interception to lead the defensive effort. Northside will host Ben Lippen on Thursday October 7 at 5:30PM in the Middle School season finale.
