The Lady Crusaders brought home a win on the road last night against Thomas Sumter's Generals.
The 1st quarter was somewhat of a get acquainted affair with NCA’s high energy defense and pressure led by Leila Spotts. Offensively, Madison Coker dropped in 4 and the Lady Crusaders led 4-3 after one. Early in the 2nd, Coker continued quieting the TSA defense by dropping in 4 more. Shortly thereafter, the game was all but put out of reach when Campbell Childers and Sophie Taylor entered the game and dropped in 4 and 2, respectively. Closing out the 1st half was Myah Wright with a rebound and a bucket of her own. Halftime Score – Crusaders 17, Generals 6.
The 3rd quarter was a bit of a scare for the Lady Crusaders. TSA came rushing back and cut the lead to 6. But, Kendall Murray knocked down 4 and Kaleigh Howell dropped in 2 to close out the 3rd. Crusaders 23, Generals 16.
Our Lady Crusaders owned the 4th. Mason Heffron got on the board with 4 to start the 4th, followed by 1 basket each by Coker, Howell, and Childers. Final Score, Lady Crusaders 33, TSA 19. Great team win by the Lady Crusaders.
