The crusader JV volleyball team completed their best season ever with a record of 21-2. They were undefeated in region play and against all SCISA teams. Yesterday's win was a two set victory over Ben Lippen 25-17 and 25-18, who put up a good fight, but the Crusaders demonstrated great effort in putting together the two best sets of the season.
Throughout the season, NCA was led by sophomores and captains Leah back and Victoria Simmons both with their volleyball skills and their leadership. Ilianna Gillie, played consistently as a pen hitter from the left side position and from the service line. The two starting setters, Lilly Gowan and Alana Wilson worked u consistently and accurately delivering sets for the attackers. Gowan was a weapon from the service line leading the team in aces and serving percentage. Macy Wright gained experience coming off the bench with set opportunities in most matches. In the middle, the Crusaders were led by freshman Tiffeny war and seventh grader Aaliyah McDonald.
The defense was in the experienced hands of Molly Pantoja who finished the season with a passing score well above two and was a dynamic attacker from the back row. Elliott Elrod gained valuable experience as a starting back role player. Alice Morton increased her skill level as the season progressed contributing important hits as a right side player. Versatile seventh grader, Madison Coker, contributed at right side, middle, and with a high rating on serve receive.
