The JV football team finally kicked off their season last night with a 22-12 loss to a talented Keenan squad. Sam Burks was the player of the game for the Crusaders with 105 yards rushing and a touchdown as well as a big 30 yard reception on offense. On defense he had 3 passes broken up and almost 100 yards in interception return yardage which included another touchdown. Jake Jeffrey played great at outside linebacker and Gaven Ford added 2 tackles for loss and a huge, open field tackle on punt team. Landon Folks chipped in a sack and 2 tackles for loss and Hudson Shick contributed a sack on defense as well as averaging 31 yards per punt. Logan Guilloty played well at defensive end and added a couple of quarterback pressures and a tackle for loss.
The next Crusader football game will be at home on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 pm against Columbia. #allN
