JV Boys Basketball Defeat Pelion 54-31

The JV Boys played their final non-region game of the season against Pelion High School on Thursday. Utilizing a suffocating full court press and taking advantage of the holes in the Pelion 3-2 zone allowed the Crusaders to take a commanding 20-2 lead in the first quarter. Keeping their defensive intensity up in the half court the JV Boys continued to extend their lead in the second quarter taking a 35-11 lead into halftime led by Easton McCutchan's 11 first half points.

While shuffling their lineup Northside continued to play solid defense and outpace an overmatched Pelion team in the third quarter and took a 27 point lead into the final quarter. Shane Richardson stepped up and scored 9 of his team leading 14 points in the 4th quarter. While the final period was a little disappointing from a defensive perspective the overall outcome was very encouraging. It gave the JV Boys another solid win that allowed them to push their record to 7-5 (3-2 in the region). With three region games left prior to the end of the regular season the Crusaders still have an opportunity to win out and win the region!

Come out this Tuesday (2/1) and support the JV Boys as they take on a tough Palmetto Christian Academy at home at 5:00 PM!
