Cross Country Runs in the 14th Annual Darlington Carnival

On Saturday, October 2nd, Northside’s Cross-Country team raced at the 14th Annual Darlington Cross Country Carnival. The Varsity Boys race began at 9:00 A.M., and for the second time this season, Trenton Manzi stepped into the starting box as the Crusader’s lone Varsity Boys runner. Manzi represented the Crusaders well on a tough course, as he finished the race with a time of 27:51.00, one of his top five performances of the season.


At 9:40 A.M., Natalie Walke and Chloe Jones toed the line for the Crusaders in the Varsity Girls race. Walke has been at every single meet this season. Walke posted a 5K time of 24:59.60, which represented her third best performance of the 2021 season. Walke is having her strongest season to date, and she continuous to show progress at every meet. Jones made her season debut at the meet, as she looks to provide the Crusader’s with a boost down the stretch. Jones ran well at her first 5K for the Crusaders, passing two competitors near the finish line, and posting a 5K time of 29:26.80.


Lastly at 10:20 A.M., Mark Diaz represented the Crusaders in the combined JV 5K. Diaz, who also plays football for Northside’s Middle School Team ran the race in 26:00.60, which was his third best performance of the season.
